Following the protocol set forth by the Diocese of Pittsburgh, this announcement is to inform you that an individual who attended the 10am Sunday Mass on Dec. 20 at St. Paul tested positive for COVID-19.
As you face the altar, the individual was seated on the right side of the church near the back.
If you were seated in this section of the church during the Mass, you may have been exposed and therefore you should consider following the CDC guidelines of self-quarantining for 14 days from the date of potential exposure, which is Dec. 20. If you experience any flu-like symptoms, please seek the advice of your doctor.
Our prayers are with this person and all who are affected by COVID-19.
All of our churches are cleaned and sanitized regularly after Masses.
The Mass schedule at all Butler Area Catholic Parishes remains the same – you can view it at ButlerAreaCatholicParishes.org and in our bulletin. We are permitting in-person Masses at 20% of church building capacity with attendees signing up in advance for the Mass they are going to attend. We trust that the folks who attend will properly wear a mask, and keep their distance from other people with whom they do not live.
However, I am in regular contact with local Butler Health System personnel, and I am concerned that large gatherings in our church buildings may lead to added burdens to the health care system, and the good people who work so hard and compassionately when we need their expertise.
Given the aforementioned, I am strongly encouraging you to watch our liturgies that are televised from St. Paul on Channel 10 on Armstrong Cable and livestreamed on Facebook.com/ButlerAreaCatholicParishes on Sundays at 10am and Monday through Saturday at 8am. In addition, our 5pm Saturday Vigil Mass at St. Conrad is livestreamed on Facebook.
If you have questions, please contact Communications Director Cindy Cusic Micco at cindy.micco@gmail.com or 724-482-2690 ext. 225.
I pray for all of you daily.
In Christ,
